Back in the '60s during the Space Race, Mattel released Major Matt Mason;
Mattel's Man In Space. They actually got real NASA prototype information
to create some of the accessories. The Major had everything a pioneering
space farer could need: an inflatable space shelter, jet pack and rocket
sled and of course the big iron - the Uni-Tred Lunar Transport, the Firebolt
Space Cannon and of course, the Space Station.
After foolishly giving away all my old goodies (of which I had quite a few) I've
begun the task of getting back my MMM collection. It's a slow process and
far more expensive than the dollar or two the original figures originally cost.
But I guess the drive to have a collection makes us do crazy things. Here
a few of the pieces I've manged to recover.
